Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 16, 2026

  • Your text is never stored What you select, type or chat is processed and dropped.
  • No API key to hand over Nothing to buy, paste, or leave sitting on your disk.
  • Only your account can read it Row Level Security scopes every row to one signed-in user.
  • Never sold, to anyone No brokers, no ad networks, no third-party profiles.

Where your text goes when you press the key

Summary of section 2. Nothing on this route writes your text to a disk we control. For what is held in memory, what the logs record and how long each copy lasts, see where your text goes.

Not on this route: Rithere's database. The text you act on and your chat messages are never written to it — only the settings and logs listed below are.

Saved to your account

Mostly so your setup follows you between devices. Summary of section 1.

  • Email, display name, user ID
  • Sign-in and sign-out timestamps
  • Your prompts — name and instruction text
  • Shortcut keys and on/off state
  • Theme and general preferences
  • Which prompt ran, and when
  • Welcome email: when it was sent, opened, and which link you clicked

Never stored

Processed in the moment, then gone. Summary of sections 2 and 3.

  • The text you select or type
  • The messages you send in chat
  • Either of those, written to our database
  • Any of it, sold to third parties

One caveat, from section 2: to write an answer at all, your text has to reach Google's Gemini API. What Google does with it there is governed by Google's own policies, not this one.

Who else touches it

Google Sign-in (OAuth) and the Gemini API that writes the answers.
Supabase Auth, database and the proxy your requests pass through.
Google Analytics This website only, never the app, and only if you click Accept all.
Resend Delivers the welcome email, so it gets your email address and name.

Summary of section 5. Their own terms govern what they do with what reaches them.

The full policy follows. Where the drawings above and the text below disagree, the text is the one that counts.

Welcome to Rithere. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

When you use the Rithere application, we may collect the following information:

  • Authentication Information: When you create an account or log in using Google OAuth, we collect basic profile information such as your email address, display name, and a unique user ID to securely manage your account and authentication sessions.
  • Sign-in / Sign-out History: We maintain a secure log of your sign-in and sign-out events, which includes your user ID, display name, and the exact timestamp (in UTC). This is used strictly for security, session management, and auditing purposes.
  • App Settings: We collect a snapshot of your application settings so they can be synchronized across your devices. This snapshot includes your custom prompts and tools (their names, the prompt instruction text you write, assigned shortcut keys, and enabled/disabled status), your chat and quick-prompt hotkeys, UI theme, and other general preferences. We also maintain a history of changes to these settings so your preferred configuration can be restored when you are logged in.
  • Activity Logs: We log when a prompt (including quick prompts) is executed, capturing the action, the name/label of the prompt, the shortcut key used to trigger it, your user ID and display name, and the timestamp.
  • Welcome Email Activity: When we send you our welcome email, we record when it was sent, when it was opened, and which of its links you clicked and when, as described in Section 6.

2. How AI Processing Works (Your Text)

Rithere's core feature sends text to an AI model to generate a response. To make this work, the text you act on — such as the text you select or type when running a prompt, and the messages you send in chat — is transmitted over a secure connection to our authenticated proxy service, which forwards it to our AI provider (Google's Gemini API) for processing. The generated response is returned to you on your device.

This text is processed only to fulfill your request in real time. We DO NOT store, log, or retain the content you select or type, or your chat messages, in our database. Note that the text is necessarily processed by our AI provider to generate a response; its handling of that data is governed by its own terms and privacy policies.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We respect your privacy and the confidentiality of your data.

  • We DO NOT store, log, or retain in our database the actual text you select or type when executing a prompt, or the content of your chat conversations. As described in Section 2, this content is transmitted transiently only to generate your AI response and is not saved on our servers.
  • We DO NOT sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Use the Information

The information we collect is strictly used to:

  • Authenticate you and manage your account and sessions securely.
  • Synchronize and restore your personalized application settings across your devices.
  • Provide the AI features you request.
  • Analyze aggregated app usage to improve features and functionality.
  • Learn whether our welcome email is useful, from whether it is opened and which links are clicked, so we can improve it.
  • Understand visits to our website, only if you allow analytics cookies (Section 7).

5. Third-Party Services

Rithere relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

  • Google: Used for sign-in (Google OAuth) and for AI processing (the Gemini API), as described in Section 2.
  • Supabase: Provides our authentication, database, and proxy infrastructure where your account, settings, and activity logs are securely stored.
  • Google Analytics: Our website (not the application itself) uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor traffic and improve the site, but only if you choose “Accept all” on our cookie banner, as described in Section 7.
  • Resend: Delivers the emails we send you, currently the one-time welcome email. It receives your email address and display name to do so.

6. Emails We Send You

When you create an account, we send you one welcome email with steps for getting started. To learn whether that email is useful, we record:

  • When it was sent.
  • When it was opened. The email contains a tiny, invisible image. When your mail app loads that image, we record the time. If your mail app blocks images, no open is recorded; some mail apps (such as Apple Mail) load images automatically, so an open can be recorded even if you never read the email.
  • Which link you clicked, and when. Each link in the email passes through our server first, which records which link it was (for example, “Step 2 — Create your first prompt”) and the time, then takes you straight to the page.

These records are linked to your user ID. We do not store your IP address or device details with them. They are not shown in the app, only we can read them, we use them only to improve the email, never for advertising, and they are deleted along with your account. The email itself says that it is tracked.

To avoid these records, turn off automatic image loading in your mail app, and go to rithere.com directly rather than through the email's links. To have existing records deleted, write to us at [email protected].

7. Cookies on This Website

This section covers our website, rithere.com. The Rithere application does not use Google Analytics.

On your first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics cookies:

  • Accept all: We load Google Analytics, which sets the _ga and _ga_Y4ZLHJ008Z cookies, kept for up to two years, to count visits and see which pages are viewed. Google receives information about your visit, such as the pages you view and your browser, and handles it under its own privacy policy.
  • Reject: Google Analytics is not loaded at all, and no analytics cookies are set.

We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage (rithere-cookie-consent) so the banner does not return on every page. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; choosing “Reject” there also deletes the Google Analytics cookies. Our website sets no other cookies.

8. Data Security

Your settings, history, and activity logs are securely stored in our database (Supabase). Access is strictly restricted to your authenticated account using Row Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning you are the only one who can access your personal data. Welcome email records (Section 6) are the exception: they are not available to your account, and only we can read them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the application or on our website.

By using Rithere, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
